A strong core is critical for just about everything we do as we move. This machine is simple and safe -- just start out with a few easy reps and work you way up -- it's not a race, folks.
You know I like the deadbug -- but after 25+ years of deadbugs, I decided to try something different (I am on old dog, who CAN learn a new trick...) Anyway, check out the "Captain's Chair" for your core training.
If you are starting out, the first thing is just to get into the gym and get moving. Strength training is not easy, but it's possible to develop a great core - but it'll take some time.
Here's a succinct tutorial on several different variations for you legs using the Captain's Chair. Thanks to The University of Kansas Ambler Rec Center for a nicely done video. Worth a watch if you want some variety in your workout.
I really like this video from @fitmensa. Watch as he uses a single dumbbell to increase the difficulty of the exercise without necessarily adding more reps.
