Strong Glutes and Quads help us get out of chairs and protect our daily mobility. This is a great machine!!
I tended to neglect my glutes in my training. This machine has changed that - I took some time to work up to a challenging weight while keeping a proper form and not just slamming the weight down -- Craig.
If you are starting out, the first thing is just to get into the gym and get moving. Strength training is not easy, but it's possible to develop a really solid core - but it'll take some time. Might as well start today.
I like this tutorial from Joe Bellino and Mary Catherine at Fitness 19. He covers all the bases on setup and how to perform the motion.
Also, he mentions suggested rep range at approx. 1:40. Good video.
There are many types of machines out there - but the principles to use are very similar. Here's a different Life Fitness machine demonstrated by Swift Fitness York.
Again - no one gym will have everything. I know you can Adjust to what your gym has.
