Great Complimentary Upper Chest Exercise - works great after pushups, chest press, dips. Give it a try!
This is a great complement to bench press, pushups, dips or machine chest press.
Form is essential on this machine - stand tall, elbows in, one leg forward. Take a few sessions to settle in and dial in the right weight and pulley height for you. I typically use this machine 2-3 times a month -- Craig.
If you are starting out, the first thing is just to get into the gym and get moving. Strength training your upper chest is not easy, but it's possible to develop -- just take your time but get started.
I like Scott Herman Fitness videos. He has a way of laying out the proper way to do exercises; this one on the cable fly is great.
At about 0:20 he explains how you can use this exercise in combo with other chest exercises during a gym session.
This video from Rachel Felber, MD shows how to do this exercise with a different cable tower setup. Note her very good form in this one.
Short video, but she covers the bases well here.
